Smith’s new DIAMOND EDGE GOURMET selected as Design Award Finalist

Smith’s, the leader in innovative sharpening technology, announced today that its new Diamond Edge Gourmet Electric Knife and Scissors Sharpener has been selected as a finalist in the Food Preparation Category of the Housewares Design Awards for 2009. The Housewares Design Awards are presented annually by Homeworld Business Magazine and selected by a panel of judges that include Housewares retailers, practicing designers and consumer journalists with educational support from the International Housewares Association.

Gourmet Electric Knife & Scissors Sharpener

The new Diamond Edge Gourmet features Interlocking Diamond Wheels, an innovative new patent pending technology that has never before been offered at the retail consumer level. It offers fast, precise and equal sharpening of both sides of a knife blade at the same time. Also included is a ceramic manual sharpening slot for polishing a freshly ground edge – AND – for sharpening serrated blades. Additional features consist of a patented Scissors Sharpener with a clever “Pull 2 Lock” storage system that makes scissors sharpening fast and easy.

The winner was named at The Sixth Annual Housewares Design Awards Ceremony and Luncheon Gala on Tuesday, January 20th at The New York Marriott Marquis Hotel. We were extremely honored to be chosen as a top 5 finalist for this exclusive award!
